The Dolch PAC 486 has an Intel 80486DX2 processor at 100 MHz and memory of 2MB. Equipped with a floppy disk of 5.25” it ran with the operating system of the Windows 3.1x or Windows 95 version.
Dolch Computer Systems (Dolch. ) was a producer of ruggedized portable computers for industrial use. Since foundation, the company evolved in the biggest supplier of logic analyzers. Very soon the corporation planned the buyout of its American division to Kontron AG.
Major selling point for the product line was the color monitor and printer as well. Alike other portable computers, the system had a durable magnesium case to withstand unintentional falls. The rugged portables were perfect for harsher environments. The target consumer groups were technicians, field workers, navy personnels etc.
