The Elektronika 901 has an Intel 8086 processor at 4.47 MHz and memory of 640kB. Equipped with a floppy disk of 3.5” and an HDD of 10MB it ran with the operating system of MS DOS version.
Elektronika is a brand name o Soviet electronic products produced from the 1970s and onwards. Factories belonging to the Soviet Ministry of Electronic Industry produced designs by engineers working in this Soviet military – industrial complex. Areas of operations included the manufacture of calculators, radios, computers, even watches and portable games.
Aiming to cover the great shortage within the Soviet Union consumer goods were produced and distributed locally. Calculators were programmable and the computers ran with operating system either soviet or Intel compatible. Most electronic toys were clones of Nintendo series, branded Russian.
