The Motorola W220 features a GSM Network connection without antenna, no Wifi or Bluetooth. The operating system was the manufacturer’s and was equipped with color display and polyphonic sound.
The Motorola W series was a family of midrange fliphones in majority, highly reliable and highly customizable. Visually the design is similar to the popular Razr phone series from the same manufacturer. Produced in mid-2000s they remained in used more than a decade. The best selling models included the W220, W230, W370 and W375.
The production of this series was during the mid ‘00s. In 2011, Motorola split into two companies. Motorola Solutions concentrates on police technologies and radio communications, while Motorola Mobility, as a spin-off, would be the mobile handset producer. On the same year Google purchased Motorola Mobility, only to sell the shares to Lenovo 3 years later, while maintaining ownership of the patents.
