If you think that the use of quantum computing in the near future seems like something out of the realms of science fiction, then consider this: quantum computers have already been used for certain digital encryption methods. Google is a popular search engine that provides users with extremely accurate results for the things they are searching for. It has recently announced that it will be using quantum computing software to provide data in what Google calls a “new era of cloud computing.” Sources are saying that their company is turning to quantum computing services. Quantum systems will provide them with quick and powerful services, allowing them to stay ahead of the competition. It has also been offering researchers access to tools, applications and a new lab. They’ve called this the “Embryonic Quantum Data Center.” IBM has already cleaned its tech lines by providing access to its quantum computing platform, and will soon provide access to a general-purpose quantum computer.
Despite the similarity with Google, there are various industries totally off-limits for Google with their current technology and infrastructure. The first to enter the race to offer a complete quantum cloud platform will most likely come from different means.
