Greeks on Facebook
Revealing data on the relationship of Greeks with Facebook has been collected through a recent survey conducted by Interweave.
Two out of ten users primarily visit Facebook from their laptops, one out of ten via tablets, while seven out of ten go from their cell phones. As the user gets older, they are more likely to log into Facebook on a computer rather than using their phone.
9.1% of users post something on their page almost daily and 23.6% less often. Most people upload something on their profile at least once a month, with 20.3% post every 10 days or so and 16.3% doing so once a month. More than three-fifths of Facebook users keep up to date with the news of the day. Out of all Facebook users, 2 out of three feel that the social media platform has access to their personal data.
The prevalent majority of those posting more often is users over 55. Meanwhile the end of the pack is those in the 16-24 age group.
Users spend a lot of time chatting with their friends and seeing what their friends are doing. They, also, often like to check up on what’s happening in the world, post opinions or comment. They share their work on social media, while they tell personal stories to others and even flirt on Facebook.
It can be hard to tell if your friends are authentic in the relationships they have with others on and off Facebook. Some people said that they have such friends 48% of respondents answered this way, but 32.9% of them think they are not. 19.1% didn’t answer this at all.
10.7% of the respondents said that 3 months without Facebook would create a problem in their daily life, 57.1% thought they would miss it but would not have a problem and 31.2% didn’t think they’d miss it at all.
Commenting on the survey results, Elias Philis notes. “Clearly reflected in the survey, is the rapid growth in mobile device usage. It makes it clear that mobile-first content is of paramount importance for businesses. It also boosts ad recall, as it is higher in mobile-first content.
Finally, the research shows continued growth in messaging, particularly among younger age groups. This attests to the fact that audiences have gradually shifted to platforms other than Facebook. Globally 1.5 billion users per month use WhatsApp, 1.3 billion use Messenger and 1 billion use Instagram. This is an insight highly actionable by businesses, as these platforms offer multiple targeting opportunities with great results.”
