The Greeks are the gurus of technology

The Greeks are the gurus of technology

Greeks spend an average of 3 hours per day on the internet, more than the global average. The use of smartphones has increased in the daily basis. Internet access has turned into a necessity, especially to stay in touch with the world around. However, just because people are more connected doesn’t mean they’re always listening! The Focus On Tech Life survey covers the period from March to June 2017.

A recent survey suggests that Greece’s population of active Internet users is around 70%. This percentage holds steady even as the usage rate increases; 81.8% of Greeks use the Internet technology on a daily basis, according to said survey.

Internet use in Greece is not just common; it’s fairly frequent, and getting larger too. In particular, people aged 65-74 spend about two hours per day on the Internet, but those aged 18-24 spend four hours each.

Data from the survey shows the apps most loved by users. These include social media, maps, informatic and entertainment ones. From the total, a 48% of Greeks download the relevant apps on their phones or tablets. In recent years, AI writing assistants are holding up in the workforce – even if you’re in your 20s or 30s.

69.6% of Greeks have access to the Internet technology, meaning almost 1 in 3 homes that they visited were using the Internet to share music, talk with friends and family, watch movies and shows and much more.

Finally, the Focus Bari survey shows that the use of the Internet and “smart” devices is starting at an increasingly younger age in our country as well. If you’re looking for a way to keep your kids in line, teach them that there’s nothing “smart” about constantly checking their screens.
