Countries with the fastest internet
According to Akamai’s data, Greece ranks 69th out of 142 countries in terms of its internet speeds.
South Korea is at the top of this list, followed by Hong Kong and Norway. In 4th and 5th spot are Sweden and Switzerland, respectively. They’re followed by Singapore, Japan, Finland and the Netherlands. Latvia appears in 10th place on the list.
South Korea is the fastest country in the world, with 26.3Mbps on average. Hong Kong has an average of 20.1Mbps while Norway reaches 20Mbps in real-world speeds and not just nominal rates
According to the report’s figures, our country is ranked 69th, globally, with an average performance of 6.9Mbps. This is a 9.7% improvement compared to the same period last year. Connections with speeds of at least 4Mbps account for 81% while those with 10Mbps and higher are less than 1%.
When it comes to the internet, Norway has the fastest average speed at 20Mbps and is followed by Sweden who has a speed of 19.7Mbps and Switzerland with 18.4 or 21% faster than in Switzerland
The internet connection speeds in Greece and Cyprus are some of the slowest in Europe – at 16.7Mbps, Cyprus is marginally worse than Britain’s at 17.8Mbps.
