
TheWorks.co.uk shut down due to security issue
TheWorks.co.uk PLC today announced that it had experienced a security issue and suffered a small amount of disruption but does not believe the incident has caused any significant damage to its business.
Birmingham-based stationery retailer reported minimal impact to business operations during the recent power outage. In total, the company had lost over three million pounds due to these issues. This includes the closing of some stores due to till issues. Replenishment deliveries are being temporarily suspended and the normal day-to-day operations are being shaped in other ways as well.
Shop deliveries are expected to resume soon, and normal online service levels are gradually being reintroduced. This is according to TheWorks.co.uk. TheWorks.co.uk stated that it does not expect this incident to have a “material adverse impact” on its forecasts or financial position for the foreseeable future. While payment data is not accessible to hackers, the extent of data compromise is unknown.
Shares in the company were down on Tuesday morning and by 0.3% from their previous level of 52.44 pence per share.
