The IBM 5120 features an IBM Palm processor and memory of 16 up to 64kB. Equipped with two floppy disks of 8”, it runs with the operating system of BasicOS or APL/S version.
The first portable computer model of the IBM 5100 series entered the market before the IBM Personal Computer and the successful IBM Portable Personal Computer. It may have been (r)evolutionary using the prototype of SCAMP (Special Computer APL Machine Portable), but it still needed to plug into an electric socket to function. Its production ceased when other successor followed a few years later, the 5110 and the IBM 5120, continuing the IBM 5100 series.
