The Microdigital TK 3000 features a Zilog Z80 processor at 1.02 MHz and memory of 64kB. Equipped with a floppy disk of 3.5” at 800kB it ran with the operating system of the DOS 3.3 or CP/M or ProDOS version.
Microdigital was a Brazilian computer company, established in the 1980s, that met grand success. Brazil supported local production and had barred foreign computer companies, except HP that was licensed to sell.
Many computers manufactured during the 1980s were clones. The domestic lines, with TK initiates from Tomas Kovari, one of the two founders, copied product line from Sinclair and Apple Macintosh. The companies sued Microdigital even though clones weren’t illegal under Brazilian law. The US of America threatened Brazil with trade sanctions of the production of the said clones wasn’t to stop.
